Landlord Registration was introduced over 3 years ago to help stamp out rogue landlords.

All landlords are required to be registered with their local authority, and the local authority must be satisfied that this person has met minimum standards and is deemed 'fit and proper' to let a property.

The system enables local authorities to remove disreputable landlords from the market and therefore helps to protect tenants and neighbours from the potential impact of mis-managed property.

If you're thinking about renting a property, you can check if your landlord is registered by visiting the Landlord Registration Scotland website.
